5:45 p.m.—Potluck Dinner
The United Methodist Women of Christ United Methodist Church will be offering a special public forum on Monday, March 18th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Alpine Center Sanctuary, featuring presentations from two chaplains representing Rockford Reachout Jail Ministry. Come as you are and hear this presentation with Q & A following.
Beginning at 5:45, a potluck will be held in Fellowship Hall, Christ United Methodist Church,4509 Highcrest Road, Rockford, with beverages being provided. Participants are asked to bring a dish to pass and their own table service. We will adjourn to the sanctuary, following the meal, for the 7:00 p.m. program. Feel free to attend this Forum even if you are unable to participate in dinner.
Among those persons benefiting from the Reachout Jail Ministry, it is important to note that reincorporating offenders back into the community and being able to bring the word of God to prisoners within our prisons is the best way to turn offenders into productive citizens. We as Christians have a commitment to human dignity and a belief that every life has value. Chaplain Laura Devries and Chaplain John Evans will discuss their experiences and the personal concerns we all must address. Through social activism, and personal and spiritual transformation, our city and our neighborhoods will be safer.
Child care will be provided for those who need it. Please call the church office to make the request known at 815-399-5910.
